With an annual salary of £36,500 - £38,500 DOE, plus excellent benefits. Full Time, Permanent. This will be working Monday to Friday 08.30am – 5pm or 8am- 4.30pm.

Due to exciting growth, Wise Employment are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for one of our fast growing clients. This role will see you responsible for the design, engineering and specification of all new products alongside the existing product range. You will also be expected to generate production ready designs and help ensure they are completed within agreed timescales.
Mechanical Design Engineer duties required:
- Working in conjunction with other departments to take products from conception to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
- Determine manufacturing methods for engineering designs.
- Work alongside other departments involved in New Product Development, making sure design for manufacture is implemented prior to product handover.
- Ensure that tolerance analysis is carried out during the design process, to assist with ease of manufacture, product function and ensure any potential tolerance build up issues during product manufacture and assembly are eliminated.
- Optimise designs to reduce costs, increase efficiency and maintain product quality.
- Carry out DFMEA at the start of each project, monitoring the completion of actions identified and to identify product design failure modes.
- Generate Bill of Materials spreadsheets during the design process to generate manufacturing costs.
Essential Skills required for a Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Either degree educated or proven engineering background with a strong bias to mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience within product development from initial prototype to mass production.
- Sheet metal manufacture experience or knowledge of processes.
- Proven experience of working with Solid Edge (Solid Works experience will be considered).
- Able to create 2D production Drawings.
- Folding simulation software experience would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft office package skills and be able to work within set standards and procedures within an ISO9001:2015 registered company.
