Salary: £27,711 - £32,654 (full-time equivalent, pro rata depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + 1 week)

Working Hours: 7:00am – 2:00pm, Monday to Friday

Wise Employment are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic School Kitchen Manager to join a fantastic school in Paignton, managing a team of 4. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the health and wellbeing of young children by providing healthy, high-quality meals every school day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals (up to 300 meals per day)
  • Plan menus and order food and supplies in line with budget and school policies
  • Responsible for working with specific dietary requirements and food allergies
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training, rotas, and performance
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness
  • Keep accurate records of stock, cash handling, and kitchen operations
  • Work closely with the School Business Manager and Headteacher to ensure smooth running of the catering service
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience managing a kitchen or catering operation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred)
  • Preferably a Level 3 First Aid qualification
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure
  • Experience of budgeting
