As Senior Engineering Technician you will provide a comprehensive and professional engineering support service for the Sterile Value Stream to meet the business & regulatory needs of the department, with responsibility for all engineering activities associated with the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Work with, operate, and support a range of equipment and technologies within the sterile manufacturing and filling value stream in a shift-based environment (24/5 or 24/7).
  • Lead and supervise the Engineering Technician team to meet production and maintenance needs, acting as stand-in for the Engineering Team Manager.
  • Act as first point of escalation for equipment breakdowns, building services issues, and hands-on technical support.
  • Plan, prioritise, and communicate engineering activities, including shift handovers, Tier meetings, shutdowns, and maintenance scheduling via MERPS.
  • Ensure GMP, EHS, and quality compliance through documentation, deviations, change controls, audits, and contractor supervision.
  • Drive continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, data accuracy (SAP/MERPS), training compliance, and support for projects and new product introductions.

Basic Qualification

  • Minimum of an HNC level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • An industry recognised Engineering apprenticeship.
  • Significant post-apprenticeship industry experience.
  • Hands on experience of GSK processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrable experience working with cross-functional teams in a complex organisation.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience working in classified areas such as ISO 5 or ISO 7.
  • Demonstrable experience in a leadership, training and team support function.
  • Experience working as a subject matter expert.
  • Hands on experience of engineering project management.
