Position Summary
You will be a key member of the Digital Medicine team, shaping strategy and delivery of digital tools that support development and safe use of medicines. You will work across research, clinical development, regulatory, data science and commercial teams. We seek a collaborative leader who combines scientific rigour with product thinking and strong people skills. Responsibilities
- Define and lead digital medicine strategies for Disease Areas across Respiratory, Immunology and Inflammation that support program and clinical study objectives and patient needs.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to design, develop and validate digital biomarkers, digital endpoints, and digital measures to inform internal decision‑making and better demonstrate the impact of our medicines.
- Identify connected‑device and other digital medicine solutions including AI opportunities with the potential to make GSK's clinical trials more efficient, cost‑effective, and patient‑centric through enhanced evidence generation. Build business cases for the development and/or deployment of these new solutions.
- Collaborate with key partners and expert functions (e.g. clinical development, regulatory, safety and data teams) to ensure scientific and regulatory rigor for digital medicine approaches.
- Identify, engage and oversee external partnerships and vendor relationships to accelerate capability and delivery.
- Upskill clinical study teams (and wider GSK organisation) on digital medicine solutions, enhancing their understanding on the opportunities for adoption and value generation.
- Champion pragmatic evidence generation and implementation plans to enable adoption by clinical teams and health systems.
Basic Qualification
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) or equivalent experience in life sciences, clinical research, biomedical engineering, data science or a related discipline.
- At least 12 years of experience in clinical development, digital health, translational medicine or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading digital medicine, digital health product development, or digital biomarker programs.
- Proven track record of working across complex, matrixed organizations and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience with regulatory interactions or submissions involving digital endpoints, software as a medical device, or related topics.
- Experience building and leading multidisciplinary matrix teams, including scientists, clinicians, engineers and data scientists.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build clarity from ambiguity. Strong influencing and senior stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualification
- Strong scientific and medical understanding of Respiratory, Immunology and/or Inflammation Therapy Areas, with hands‑on experience in designing or operationalizing clinical trials in these TAs.
- Experience with real‑world evidence, remote clinical trials, or decentralized trial approaches.
- Knowledge of clinical validation methods for digital biomarkers and familiarity with relevant guidance from major health authorities.
- Past success managing external partnerships, start‑ups, or consortia to deliver digital solutions.
- Strong product management experience or experience translating scientific concepts into user‑centered products.
- Experience with device connectivity, mobile apps, wearables, sensors or interoperable health data standards.
- Well‑developed project management skills, including handling vendors, budgets, timelines and risks.
Working arrangement
This role follows a hybrid working model. The role will require regular on‑site presence to collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Fully remote arrangements are not available.
