Responsibilities
- Engage in one‑to‑one scientific dialogue with external experts about GSK’s medicines and vaccines in line with GSK Code of Practice and local laws.
- Support GSK study teams by providing scientific expertise to investigators and staff involved in GSK‑supported clinical trials and Investigator‑Sponsored Studies (ISS).
- Act as an expert speaker at internal and external events in line with GSK Policy.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for Medical Information from healthcare providers in a fair, factual, balanced, and scientifically rigorous manner via the preferred channel.
- Serve as the interface between the professional healthcare community and the internal GSK medical team to bring value‑added insights that inform GSK Medical, Commercial, and R&D activities.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with Medical Representatives and Commercial colleagues.
- Partner with matrix colleagues (e.g. sales, marketing, market access) to ensure strategies and business plans are patient‑ and business‑focused, adding value to external experts.
- Disseminate important safety information to healthcare professionals as it emerges.
- Provide scientific education training for business partners such as the Medical Representatives by being the local scientific expert for one or more medicines/vaccines in a therapy area.
- Maintain a level of expertise in the evolving scientific/therapeutic area and in competitor medicines and vaccines.
- Attend scientific meetings and congresses to stay abreast of evolving science in a therapy area and to confidently debate and discuss the science with external experts.
- Fully understand and comply with GSK standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines and laws to ensure all requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Higher degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, clinical sciences or equivalent (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc or similar) and/or registered healthcare professional or significant industry experience in medical affairs engaging with external experts.
- Strong clinical and scientific knowledge within the oncology field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex science clearly.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of the UK healthcare system and ability to work independently in the field.
- Confident networker with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Therapy area experience in gynaecological cancer.
- Previous experience working as a Medical Scientific Liaison or in a field‑based medical affairs role.
- Track record of presenting at scientific meetings or contributing to publications.
- Experience of compliance standards, including the ABPI Code of Practice.
- Effective networking and collaboration skills to achieve business results.
- Strong business mindset and ability to balance cross‑functional objectives.
- A sense of curiosity and a passion for continuous learning and development.
