We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic team of professionals at Malvin's Close Academy.

Malvin's Close is a friendly, happy, vibrant school located in Blyth. Our youngest children are just three years old and can learn with us all the way up to Year Six (aged 11). We are proud to have been part of WISE Academies since 2018 and have close working relationships with all of our partner schools. Our curriculum, outdoor provision and teaching is personalised to meet the needs and interests of our pupils and through our wealth of teaching expertise we celebrate all aspects of the National Curriculum with children and in the learning environment. You will perform a key role in supporting children's learning in all its aspects. You will be required to work with targeted groups and or classes and must have a good understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Relevant Early years Qualification e.g.; Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner, BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development (Early Years Practitioner), Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator).
  • Be experienced in working with children aged 2-5.
  • Confidently support quality first teaching of children alongside the class teacher.
  • Be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being are achieved.
  • Have good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
  • Have the ethos and philosophy to build good relationships with children and parents, support daily routines in a stimulating and creative setting and help to provide rich experiences to enable our children to become effective learners.
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and well-being of children.
  • Be able to use ICT to support learning.
