Job Summary
The Trainee Welder learns how to perform welding and re-dressing of all fishing & remedial tools and related equipment. Service quality and safety are key priorities.
Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Participates in tool-box meetings with all members of the welding team.
  • Is always fully compliant with the requirements of the QHSE policies, standards, and wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintains all equipment in good, safe working order according to standards and reports any problem or deviation to welding supervisor.
  • Maintains the supply of oxygen, propane and acetylene bottles.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Completed a recognised welding/fabrication apprenticeship and has gained experience using basic welding processes.
  • Must be able to read & understand technical drawings.
  • Have had some experience in using the SMAW, GMAW, OFW and GTAW welding processes.
  • Is personally committed to continuous improvement.
  • Listens and is able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.

QHSE Commitments:

  • Be familiar with the WIS QHSE policies and Standard and QHSE system –
  • Demonstrate Company leadership, in its expectations, accountabilities and proactiveness in all QHSE matters.
  • Adhere to all QHSE requirements and local site house rules.
  • Participate in all HSE Safety inspections as required.
