An opportunity has arisen to join our Neonatal Team. We are a 24-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, level 3, within the Cheshire and Mersey Neonatal Network, providing care for infants and their families from 22 weeks gestation and above. Applications are invited from motivated Registered Nurses or Midwives with a neonatal qualification or those willing to undertake speciality training. This role offers a highly rewarding area of nursing with extensive neonatal nursing experience working alongside a highly skilled, motivated team. You will be actively encouraged to participate in and contribute to the development of the Neonatal Service.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a defined group of patients under the guidance of senior staff.
- Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain family-centred care systems.
- Advising on health promotion, considering physical, emotional, and social factors influencing the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of babies and their families.
- Carrying out custody and administration of drugs in accordance with Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Participating in Clinical Supervision.
- Communicating effectively with all staff regarding patient care.
- Providing accurate verbal or written information about patient care to team members.
- Committing to the communication strategy.
