Clinic Clerk

To work as part of a team under the supervision of the Team Leader, providing clerical and reception support in the Central Outpatients Department.

1. Arrange the booking, reception, and follow-up of out-patients for any clinician in accordance with agreed requirements.
2. Complete all required documentation and update computer records.
3. Deal with any difficulties related to the clinic, referring to a higher level if necessary, and suggest improvements.
4. Receive and acknowledge incoming referral letters appropriately.
5. Refer letters to the Consultant/clinician for further advice as needed.
6. Book and advise patients of appointments following the Trust’s booking protocols.
7. Ensure clinics are booked to full capacity as per the schedule.
8. Propose modifications to improve the clinic’s efficiency based on demand.
9. Ensure all outpatient targets related to appointments are met.
