As our school continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a compassionate, nurturing and highly relational Therapeutic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated therapeutic team. This unique role involves supporting children across EYFS and Key Stage 1, helping them to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn through therapeutic and child-centred approaches. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusion and emotional wellbeing, with a genuine commitment to understanding children’s needs and building trusting relationships. This role would suit someone with experience in a pastoral, therapeutic or emotional wellbeing role, such as ELSA, nurture provision or similar support work.

The role will involve:
- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, regulation and readiness to learn
- Delivering therapeutic and pastoral interventions for individuals and small groups
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children through a nurturing and consistent approach
- Supporting children who may experience anxiety, dysregulation, communication difficulties or social and emotional needs
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, the therapeutic and inclusion teams
- Supporting children within classrooms, nurture spaces, sensory rooms, sensory circuit rooms, outdoors and during less structured times
- Helping children to develop emotional literacy, resilience and positive social interaction skills
- Using therapeutic and relational approaches to support behaviour and emotional regulation
- Contributing to observations, support plans and communication with staff and families
- Creating calm, supportive environments where children feel safe and valued
- Supporting inclusive practice across EYFS and KS1
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
- Has experience working with children with ACES, social, emotional or communication needs
- May have experience as an ELSA or within a pastoral, nurture or therapeutic role
- Is calm, patient, empathetic and highly nurturing
- Has strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Understands the importance of attachment-aware and trauma-informed practice
- Can work flexibly across different age groups and needs
- Is reflective, resilient and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting every child to succeed
- Is enthusiastic about professional development and learning new approaches
- Will be committed to make a difference to families and children in the Grove Street Primary School community
