Wirral WRAP School is an independent, specialist day provision operating over 39 weeks of the year for boys and girls aged 7–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Based in Beechwood, Wirral, we are an aspirational, innovative and supportive school committed to the development of both our students and staff. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive and collaborative working environment where staff support one another both in and out of the classroom. All staff benefit from ongoing professional development, including regular training in safeguarding, mental health, multi-agency working, and special educational needs such as Autism, attachment and ADHD.
We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated and supportive team, working with exceptional students who present a range of needs, including SEMH and ASD. As a Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education, inspiring students and supporting their academic and personal development. You will create engaging lessons, foster a positive learning environment and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all students achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Develop and implement schemes of work
- Differentiating teaching to meet individual learning needs, including SEND
- Use effective behaviour management strategies, including positive behaviour approaches
- Provide tailored support through mentoring and targeted interventions
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching accordingly
- Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Safeguarding & Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe and secure learning environment at all times
- Follow all safeguarding procedures in line with school policies and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025) and proposed revisions (2026) as they become available.
- Understand and implement health and safety responsibilities in accordance with WRAP policies
Personal Qualities
- Committed and motivated individual
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to analyse data and use it to inform decision-making
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Essential Criteria
- A recognised degree in Education or a relevant subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Strong understanding of SEN practices and inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for education and improving outcomes for young people
