Mainscale 1 – 6 Full Time Fixed term to cover maternity leave From 01 September 2026 to 31 August 2027

The Governors of Our Lady & St Edward's Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team on a fixed-term basis.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about high-quality teaching and learning, and who is committed to ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

About You

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent, relevant experience (or strong placement experience for ECTs)
  • Demonstrate a secure knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Be able to plan, deliver and assess a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Use assessment effectively to ensure good progress and attainment for all pupils, including vulnerable and disadvantaged learners
  • Demonstrate strong adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Have high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Create an engaging and purposeful learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers
  • Work effectively with Teaching Assistants, directing and deploying support staff to maximise pupil outcomes
  • Be committed to the Teachers’ Standards and ongoing professional development
  • Support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school
