About the Role
The Senior Information Governance Officer role is responsible for providing advice and assistance in relation to complex Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Data Protection (DP) requests for information. The post is based within the Information Governance team which is part of Law & Corporate Services Directorate. The role supports the work of the Data Protection Officer and the Deputy Data Protection Officer. This role works across all Council Directorates and is pivotal in ensuring the Council’s compliance with legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
- Providing advice and assistance in relation to complex FOI, EIR, and DP requests for information.
- Supporting the Data Protection Officer and Deputy Data Protection Officer.
- Working across all Council Directorates to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Managing a high volume of time-sensitive information requests in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in an Information Governance role.
- Excellent working knowledge of FOI, EIR, and DP legislation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
