We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our students and colleagues. If you are passionate about education and enjoy working with children, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As a Level 3 teaching assistant, you will work within the team to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision involving planning, preparation and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term, whole classes. You will monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
We are looking for candidates who:
- An interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and any relevant training or NVQ is desirable
- Are confident in the classroom and understand how children with SEND learn
- Have high expectations of what can be achieved
- Seek to build positive relationships with children
- Are flexible with a good sense of humour and an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’
- Are able to work to their own initiative as well as part of a team
- Are confident and excited about using and embracing outdoor learning in their practice
- Are flexible, hardworking and have a passion to make a difference in the lives of our young learners
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to making a difference
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with young people and adults
- The ability to show initiative whilst knowing when to take advice
- Commitment to inclusion, high standards of achievement, pastoral care and safeguarding
- Good judgement over matters of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information about students
- Strong IT skills with the ability to positively respond to training in the use of school IT packages
