We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our students and colleagues. We are looking for three Level 2 Teaching Assistants who are ambitious and hard-working individuals to join a busy team within the primary phase. The purpose of the role is to work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and academy policies and procedures. You will also provide small group interventions using specific programmes as directed.

The main duties will involve:

  • To work under the guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • To run small group interventions to close gaps or to meet specific SEND/SEMH needs.
  • To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within school.
  • Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies for culture for learning.
  • Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements, resolving all but the most complex problems independently.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with young people and adults.
  • The ability to show initiative whilst knowing when to take advice.
  • Commitment to inclusion, high standards of achievement, pastoral care and safeguarding.
  • Good judgement over matters of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information about students.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to positively respond to training in the use of school IT packages.
