Are you passionate about making sure every child feels valued, included and able to thrive? We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Inclusion Champion to join our team and help us continue building a school where every pupil feels a strong sense of belonging.
As our Inclusion Champion you will work closely with the SENDCo, Head Teacher, pastoral team and class teachers to support pupils with additional needs including those with SEND, SEMH needs or other vulnerabilities. You will help remove barriers to learning, model inclusive practice and build strong trusting relationships with children and families. Your work will make a meaningful difference to pupils’ wellbeing, confidence and engagement in school life.

Key Responsibilities
- Promoting Inclusive Practice - Champion the school’s vision and values around nurture, inclusion, equality and diversity. Model inclusive approaches in all aspects of school life ensuring pupils feel safe, respected and valued. Support staff in adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Supporting Pupils with Additional Needs - Work alongside the SENDCo to identify pupils requiring additional support and ensure early intervention strategies are implemented. Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND. The Inclusion Champion will ensure that inclusion is at the heart of the school’s culture, strengthening capacity across the staff team and enabling all pupils to thrive academically, socially and through targeted support to pupils in nurture provision in class or small groups as directed.
- Building Staff Capacity - Partner with teachers and teaching assistants to share strategies, resources and approaches that promote inclusion. Contribute to staff CPD by modelling best practice and supporting training sessions. Encourage reflective practice and support colleagues in developing confidence when working with pupils with diverse needs.
- Family and Community Engagement - Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported. Work collaboratively with external agencies and the Local Authority to strengthen provision.
- Monitoring and Evaluation - Support the collection and analysis of data relating to behaviour, progress and attainment of vulnerable groups. Contribute to reports for governors and senior leaders on the impact of inclusion strategies. Identify areas for improvement and help shape action plans to raise standards.
