Fixed term with strong possibility of permanent. As our school continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a passionate, nurturing and enthusiastic Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to join our thriving Early Years Reception team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who truly believes in child centred learning, the importance of play, and the power of high quality adult interactions in shaping children’s development. The successful candidate will have a genuine love of EYFS and outdoor learning, bringing energy, creativity and curiosity to our provision. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive team, alongside experienced teachers and leaders who are committed to staff development and wellbeing. At Grove Street, we have a deep rooted commitment to developing staff and providing opportunities for people to grow professionally; many of our TAs go on to teacher training with us.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting children within a vibrant, play based EYFS environment
  • Setting up and enhancing high-quality continuous provision, indoors and outdoors
  • Delivering Read Write Inc. phonics groups and targeted 1:1 interventions
  • Engaging fully in provision alongside children through purposeful play and high quality interactions
  • Promoting curiosity, language development and vocabulary through meaningful conversations
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional and communication development
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and a love of learning
  • Working collaboratively as part of a highly skilled and supportive EYFS team
  • Supporting inclusive practice to ensure all children feel safe, valued and successful
  • Contributing to planning, assessments and next steps as part of the team
  • Helping to create an engaging outdoor learning environment where children can thrive

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
  • Has experience working within an EYFS setting
  • Is passionate about child-centred, play-based learning
  • Values outdoor learning and understands its importance in child development
  • Can build warm, positive relationships with children and families
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is nurturing, patient and inclusive in their approach
  • Has strong knowledge of early language development and the importance of high quality interactions
  • Is enthusiastic, reflective and eager to develop professionally
  • Ideally has experience of delivering phonics interventions, particularly Read Write Inc.
  • Will be committed to make a difference to families and children in the Grove Street Primary School community
