As a Teaching Assistant at St George's Primary School, you will support classroom teaching, contribute to lesson planning, and support pupils' pastoral and educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision for whole class and individual pupils.
- Prepare resources to support learning activities.
- Ensure pupils are supported pastorally.
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to support learning needs.
- Support high-quality classroom teaching, including phonics and mastery-based mathematics.
- Promote high-quality oracy and language.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies and develop good relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
- Work constructively as part of a team and show initiative with common sense.
Qualifications & Experience
- Deep understanding of and passion for high-quality education.
- Commitment to inclusion and SEND support.
- At least 50 hours of CPD per year (or willingness to undertake CPD).
- Experience supporting classroom teaching, phonics, and mastery-based mathematics.
- Knowledge of promoting oracy and language.
- Positive behaviour management skill.
- Ability to build relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
- Ability to work constructively in a team.
- Willingness to take initiative and apply common sense.
- Qualifications at TA2 level or above (or willingness to undertake on appointment).
