Wirral Metropolitan College is looking for two lecturers to join our Prep for Life team. These are 35 hours per week, full‑time, permanent roles offering a salary of £31,410 to £43,440 per annum. Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities
- Carry out formal scheduled teaching.
- Act as a personal tutor to a group(s) of students.
- Operate as part of a team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programme(s).
- Lead, support and advise a team on the design and development of learning resources in an area of specialism to support high‑quality teaching, learning, support and assessment for learners, including those with complex and multiple learning difficulties.
- Co‑ordinate and monitor data across a team, as required, for Course Team Reviews and other purposes.
- Advise the Head of Department on the development of Preparation for Life provision.
- Contribute to the provision of appropriate, high‑quality activities/course information to effectively promote Preparation for Life.
Skills and Qualifications
- Full teaching qualification (Certificate of Education, PGCE or equivalent) or currently studying towards one.
- Minimum Level 2 English/literacy qualification (National Certificates, Key Skills, GCSEs A‑C or equivalent).
- Minimum Level 2 maths/numeracy qualification (National Certificates, Key Skills, GCSEs A‑C or equivalent).
- Successful experience of teaching groups of learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD) demonstrating knowledge and practice of effective and inclusive group teaching and learning strategies.
- Knowledge of Entry Level curricula/qualifications.
- Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high‑quality, motivational and inclusive learning experiences for learners with LDD.
