We are looking for a Head of Department to join our Health, Education and Social Science team. This is a 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent role offering a salary of Β£47,469 to Β£55,001 per annum. Why Join Us?   • To effectively lead high-quality teaching learning and assessment based on best practice pedagogical approaches for all types of provision
  • To lead and manage the Health, Education and Social Science curriculum achieving annual targets for;
  • Quality of Education - achievement and progression rates
  • Finances - learner numbers and income
  • Expenditure- staff utilisation, staff planning and non-staff costs; and
  • To ensure all quality assurance and improvement procedures and systems are effectively implemented within the area of responsibility.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the learner journey including induction, communication channels, teaching, and IAG provision.
  • Agreeing and implementing targets for recruitment, retention and success of students.
  • To work collaboratively with all college Heads of Department to ensure the continued improvement of student experience.
    Hold or commit to achieving a formal management qualification within three years.
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Recognised Teaching qualification
  • Strong leadership experience in the field of education
  • Significant successful experience in working with young people and adult learners.
  • Strong specialist knowledge of the Health Science, Social Care and Early Years sectors, including current professional expectations, workforce requirements and progression opportunities.
