We are looking for an English Lecturer to join our team. This is a 35 hours per week, full‑time, permanent role offering a salary of £31,410 to £43,440 per annum.

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities

As an English Lecturer you will provide engaging and effective instruction to a diverse range of students studying English language from entry level up to GCSE. This encompasses developing and delivering well‑structured lessons that cater to various learning styles, employing a variety of teaching methodologies, and ensuring that all learners grasp fundamental concepts. Additionally, you will support students' academic progress by setting achievable goals, providing regular feedback, and assisting with revision and exam preparation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (Certificate of Education, PGCE or equivalent).
  • Hold a specialist Level 4/5 English qualification (or from a related discipline e.g. History).
  • Minimum Level 2 Mathematics qualification.
  • Able to evidence successful experience of teaching Functional Skills maths and GCSE English.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and practice of effective and inclusive group teaching and learning strategies.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of GCSE English specifications and/or Functional Skills standards.
