Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying litter bins, polishing and dusting of all college areas (including toilets and shower areas) and fixtures and fittings, using appropriate powered equipment.
- May also include external entrance and localised pathways for general sweep and limited litter pick.
- Report any obvious defects such as blocked toilets, broken fixtures and fittings to the team leader during normal duties.
Skills and Qualifications
- Commit to working towards a BICSc Cleaning Operatives Foundation Certificate or NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning Operations within 6 months of appointment.
- Awareness of general cleaning methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and safe use of materials and equipment.
- Understanding of requirements in dealing with staff and public.
- Ability to communicate clearly, with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and work to schedules.
