We are looking for a college Governor to join our team.

This is a voluntary position in which you can play a central role in supporting learners, employers, and the local economy.

Job Purpose/Key

Responsibilities: Attending in‑person Board meetings at our campuses in Birkenhead four times a year.

Joining Committee meetings remotely over Teams three to four times a year.

Carrying out advance work for meetings by reading papers and preparing questions.

Responding to emails from the Governance Professional regarding general Board business between meetings.

Representing the Board at College events including Graduation and Staff Awards.

Keeping up with sector developments.

Skills and

Qualifications: Expertise in law, property/estates, or HR/people management.

Can think strategically, ask constructive questions, and champion good governance.

Value education, opportunity, and inclusion.

Can commit approximately eight hours per month, with flexibility to accommodate busier and quieter months.

Previous governance experience is welcome but not essential.
