We are looking for a Work Placement Coordinator - Health and Early Years to join our team. This is a 35 hours per week, term time only role offering a salary of £22,090 to £22,751 per annum.

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Head/Deputy Head of Department and key contacts within the curriculum area to agree and plan for effective and appropriate work placements for students on study programmes or students studying on other programmes.
  • Liaise with a variety of placements/employers to source potential work placements within an appropriate timeframe and continuously develop and maintain effective relationships.
  • Checking the implementation of legal and contractual requirements affecting work placement procurement and provision.
  • Responsibility for checking the implementation of Health and Safety and Insurance requirements for employers.
  • Where appropriate, implement a risk assessment in accordance with college policies and procedures.
  • Carrying out Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for students in specific vocational areas in accordance with WMC and DBS guidelines and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 2 or above literacy/English qualification
  • Level 2 or above numeracy/maths qualification
  • Previous administration experience which includes record keeping, inputting data, manipulating and analysing data.
  • Knowledge of the local employer needs and previous experience of liaising with employers to arrange work placements.
  • An understanding of the role of workplace learning for FE students.
  • Functional ICT and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages – Word, Excel and Databases.
