We are looking for a Trainer Assessor - Early Years and Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a 21 hours per week, part-time, permanent role offering a salary of £17,769 to £19,409 per annum.

Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and assessment to students both in the college and on the employer’s premises, to motivate and engage in learning to ensure success.
  • Liaise with individual students and/or workplace supervisors to ensure convenient placements and assessment visits are arranged, and to be sensitive to the requirements of observing practice within an establishment in which they are not directly employed.
  • Provide advice, guidance and feedback relating to the assessment process to ensure that candidates are competent and achieve within an agreed timescale.
  • Complete relevant paperwork including Awarding Body compliance requirements, all relevant documentation relating to assessment and achievement, and IQA for both work-based and online qualifications.
  • Prepare and deliver training packs to support progress and underpin knowledge of the workplace.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have or be willing to undertake a teaching/training qualification e.g. PTLLS (Award Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector).
  • Hold a level 3 in Early Years, Teaching Assistant or related qualification.
  • Hold Level 2 Functional Skills/GCSE, Grade Pass/C/4 or above maths/English qualifications.
  • Hold a recognised assessor’s qualification or be willing to work towards.
  • Have experience of working as an Early Years supervisor or Teaching Assistant.
  • Have a sound understanding of supporting, monitoring and reviewing students’ progress in work-based training.
