We are looking for a Cover Lecturer to join our English team. This is a35 hours per week,full-time, fixed term role until June 2027 offering a salary of £31,410 to £43,440per annum.

Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities:
As an English Lecturer you will provide engaging and effective instruction to a diverse range of students studying English language from Entry level up to GCSE. This encompasses developing and delivering well-structured lessons that cater to various learning styles, employing a variety of teaching methodologies, and ensuring that all learners grasp fundamental mathematical concepts. Additionally, English lecturers play a crucial role in supporting students' academic progress by setting achievable goals, providing regular feedback, and assisting with revision and exam preparation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Teaching qualification (Certificate of Education, PGCE or equivalent).
- Hold a specialist Level 4/5 English qualification (or from a related discipline e.g. History).
- Minimum Level 2 Mathematics qualification.
- Able to evidence successful experience of teaching Functional Skills maths and GCSE English.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge and practice of effective and inclusive group teaching and learning strategies.
- Have a thorough knowledge of GCSE English specifications and/or Functional Skills standards.
