We are looking for an Assistant Safeguarding Manager to join our team. This is a 35 hours per week, term time only, permanent role offering a salary of £29,543 to £32,280 per annum.

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to safeguarding disclosures and concerns, ensuring appropriate action, referrals and protective measures are taken.
- Manage safeguarding support for a designated caseload of vulnerable students, particularly those who are known or previously known to social care.
- Monitor and support the educational progress, engagement and wellbeing of students who are currently or have previously been open to social care, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
- Act as lead professional for safeguarding matters relating to Children Looked After and Care Leavers, coordinating support and educational planning with relevant agencies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Level 5 professional or management qualification or commitment to obtain.
- Minimum of GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Direct experience of ‘safeguarding’ in a setting of children, young people, vulnerable adults and/or Children Looked After.
- Direct experience of multi-agency working.
- Good working knowledge of statutory requirements, guidance and good practice concerning ‘safeguarding’.
- Knowledge of policies, protocols and procedures relevant to key ‘safeguarding’ agencies e.g. Social Services, police, probation/offending.
