Active Wirral is seeking motivated and customer‑focused Leisure Assistants to join our dedicated teams across several of our leisure centres. You will be based initially at one of our sites, with opportunities to work across the wider service. We are looking for individuals who are professional, ambitious, accountable and committed to delivering excellent customer service. You will play a key role in ensuring our leisure facilities remain safe, welcoming and enjoyable for all users.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • Providing lifeguard duties across designated swimming pools.
  • Regularly patrol the gym area on rota and ensure all areas of the leisure facility and machines are clean and in good working order.
  • Ensure all areas are fit for purpose and report all defects to Line Manager.
  • To undertake general cleaning and labouring duties as required.
  • Regularly patrol outside facilities, collect tickets and supervise outside changing facilities including the issue of keys for changing areas.
  • An understanding of and an ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • All Leisure Assistants must participate in on-going training programmes.

A current Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) Pool Lifeguarding qualification is an essential requirement for this post. Candidates should be willing to work flexible hours and shift patterns across all leisure centres which may include evenings and weekends.
