Joining Wirral Council means becoming part of a dedicated, forward‑thinking team that is truly valued and encouraged to thrive.

About the role: This is a workplace based, key operational role and you will be an active part of a multi-disciplinary team across several sites. About the candidate: We’re looking for a motivated and flexible individual to help us ensure our buildings are safe, efficient, and welcoming for staff, residents, and service users. In this role, you’ll work across multiple locations within the Borough, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You may also be required to drive a Council vehicle while on duty. Training in first aid and other relevant disciplines will be provided if you’re not already qualified.

As part of our facilities management team, you’ll bring:

  • Experience working effectively both independently and as part of a wider team
  • The ability to manage deadlines, meet performance indicators, and respond confidently to issues as they arise
  • A strong track record of working with a range of internal and external partners
  • Knowledge and practical experience across a variety of Facilities Management duties — including Health & Safety, legislative requirements, and completing documentation electronically and on paper
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to follow Council procedures and best practice

Most importantly, you’ll share our commitment to delivering excellent services and enhancing how we engage with our community — putting people at the heart of everything we do. This role may entail early morning, early evening and weekend shift work, so a flexible approach to work is required.
