About the Role: As a Trading Standards Officer you will be required to carry out the full range of statutory trading standards enforcement duties, depending on qualifications and competency, in relation to weights and measures, food standards, intellectual property, fair trading law, consumer product safety, credit, feeding stuffs and fertilisers, doorstep crime and underage sales. You will carry out criminal compliance enforcement activities across the regulatory service functions whilst working within a generic team carrying out inspections, projects, and investigations into complex and serious breaches of trading standards legislation, identify legal contraventions and select, recommend and execute appropriate enforcement activity based on assessed risk. You will have sole responsibility for undertaking this work and the duties will include presenting solutions to bring a resolution to complex issues.
About the candidate: We would like to hear from you if you have the relevant experience to comply with the training, qualifications and competence requirements and you must hold the following qualification: Professional CTSI qualification: Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) or its equivalent. Weights and Measures and Food Standards modules are essential for this role.
