Mobile School Crossing Patrol x 2 – Term-time Fixed Term – 12 months

About the Role: This is a role where your presence truly matters. As a Mobile School Crossing Patrol, you’ll play a vital part in helping children, families and the wider community travel safely to and from school each day. Working across different locations, you’ll step in wherever support is needed, sometimes at short notice, ensuring crossings remain safe and accessible. No two days are the same — one morning you might be supporting a busy school route, the next covering another part of the borough, bringing variety and purpose to your work. You’ll be a visible, reassuring presence on the roadside, confidently stopping traffic and guiding pedestrians safely across. It’s a hands-on, outdoor role where you’ll work in all weather conditions, staying alert to changing traffic and putting safety at the heart of everything you do.

About the candidate: You’re someone who takes pride in looking out for others and understands the importance of keeping people safe. Calm, dependable and observant, you’re able to confidently manage situations and make quick, sound decisions in a busy road environment. You communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of people, from children and parents to drivers, and you bring a friendly but authoritative presence to the role. Punctuality and reliability are second nature to you, and you’re happy working independently outdoors. Flexibility is key — you’re willing and able to travel between locations across the borough, often at short notice, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Above all, you’re motivated by making a positive difference in your community, knowing that your role helps keep people safe every single day.

Interviews to be held week commencing 22nd June 2026. This post requires a DBS check.

Eligibility to work in the UK will be verified in the final stages of the selection process. All candidates must either already have a right to work in the UK before commencing employment or meet the Home Office criteria for Visa sponsorship.
