We aim to maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients within the Hospice. You will work under the instructions of a qualified nurse to give care to patients and their families while undertaking clerical duties as required. Patient stays average 2‑3 weeks. You will work in a multidisciplinary setting with high nurse‑to‑patient ratios, enabling meaningful relationships and high‑quality care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Inpatient Unit.
  • Assist with daily living activities and medication administration under the supervision of a qualified nurse.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete clerical tasks as required.
  • Work as part of a multi‑professional team to meet complex patient needs.
  • Support patients' families and provide emotional support.
  • Adhere to hospice values and uphold a compassionate, accountable, respectful, equitable and sustainable approach.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent) and basic IT skills.
  • Experience in an inpatient or residential setting or with life‑limiting illness is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication, flexibility and team‑working skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and work unsupervised.
  • Good initiative, reliability, confidence and a sense of humour.
  • Commitment to work unsocial hours.
