Youth Worker – The Drop In – 2 x 18 hours per week
Wirral Council is seeking two part-time Youth Workers to join The Drop In, a frontline early intervention service supporting young people aged 13-19.
Responsibilities
- Provide triage, brief interventions, crisis support and holistic assessments, helping young people access the right support at the right time.
- Work closely with partners across the Youth Collective to improve outcomes relating to emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, mental health and other complex needs.
Qualifications
- Passionate and skilled youth work practitioner with experience supporting young people facing mental health concerns, risk‑taking behaviours and safeguarding issues.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, good understanding of youth work practice and safeguarding, and ability to remain calm and responsive in crisis situations.
- Committed to placing young people at the centre of your work and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements
- Existing right to work in the UK before commencing employment.
- Successful applicants will be subject to thorough pre‑employment checks, including enhanced DBS clearance, verified reference checks, verification of qualifications and identity, and checks of the right to work in the UK.
