The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

As a Trading Standards Officer you will be required to carry out the full range of statutory trading standards enforcement duties, depending on qualifications and competency. Your responsibilities will span weights and measures, food standards, intellectual property, fair trading law, consumer product safety, credit, feeding stuffs and fertilisers, doorstep crime and underage sales.

You will perform criminal compliance enforcement activities across the regulatory service functions whilst working within a generic team conducting inspections, projects, and investigations into complex and serious breaches of trading standards legislation. This includes identifying legal contraventions and selecting, recommending, and executing appropriate enforcement activity based on assessed risk. You will have sole responsibility for undertaking this work, including presenting solutions to bring resolution to complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Professional CTSI qualification: Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) or its equivalent.
  • Weights and Measures and Food Standards modules are essential for this role.
