Are you passionate about protecting vulnerable adults and making a genuine impact in your community? Wirral Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join our highly respected Adults Safeguarding Team.

As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality safeguarding interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and safety. You will manage complex caseloads, complete risk assessments, and lead safeguarding enquiries. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and ensure adults at risk receive the support, protection, and dignity they deserve.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and coordinating safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014 and triaging new concerns as part of the Duty Rota.
  • Managing a diverse caseload with autonomy and professional judgement.
  • Undertaking strengths‑based assessments as per the Care Act 2014, and developing outcome‑focused support plans.
  • Completing Mental Capacity Assessments when required.
  • Undertaking Making Safeguarding Personal Conversations that shape risk planning and outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with health partners, police, care providers, and voluntary organisations.
  • Applying legislation, policy, and best practice to protect adults from harm or abuse.
  • Providing professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.

About The Candidate

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered).
  • Experience in adult safeguarding or similar statutory adult services.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report‑writing skills.
  • Confidence in managing risk and making evidence‑based decisions.
  • Ability to work flexibly, proactively, and as part of a supportive team.
