Senior Accountant

About the Role:

An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join the Finance Service at Wirral Council. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join and support Treasury Management & VAT team.

As a key member of the Accountancy team, your primary purpose will be to support the Senior Finance Business Partner to effectively manage the cashflow of the Council.

You will play a key role in the ensuring Council\’s investment and debt portfolios are maintained in adherence to the risk minimising parameters within the Council\’s Treasury Management Strategy.

Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner you will also help to ensure that the Council complies with all necessary VAT accounting and reporting requirements.

About the candidate:

You will be an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individual, who is able to demonstrate a working knowledge of this area, whilst also possessing excellent communication skills.

This is a challenging position and will require strong financial analysis skills and input into reporting for various stakeholders.
