About the Role

Transport Co‑ordinator (fixed‑term 6 months covering maternity leave). Responsible for planning and coordinating home‑to‑school/college/day‑centre transport for vulnerable special needs young people and adults, managing about 70 part‑time staff and processing invoices. Report to a small office‑based team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate transport services for over 2000 passengers daily.
  • Manage up to 70 part‑time staff, ensuring schedules meet service level agreements.
  • Process payroll and invoices for transport staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of local road networks and liaise with contractors, schools, colleges and day centres.
  • Provide excellent telephone and customer service to users and their families.

Candidate Profile

  • Well‑organised, adaptable, able to work in a busy office environment.
  • Demonstrates empathy towards the client group and families; strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Teams); calm under pressure.

Requirements

  • Experience coordinating transport services or a similar planning role.
