Role: Specialist Business Support Officer, 36 hours per week, fixed term contract until June 2027, within the Safeguarding Unit of Children’s Services. The role involves providing high-quality administrative support with a focus on accurate and timely minute-taking for safeguarding meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact by telephone, liaising with professionals, outside agencies and the public; demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attend safeguarding meetings held in person at various locations across the borough and take accurate minutes.
- Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes and supporting documentation; ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all records and communications.
- Liaise with professionals across multiple agencies to coordinate meeting logistics and maintain up-to-date records; follow up on agreed actions.
About The Candidate / Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to record information accurately.
- Proven experience in minute taking and a resilient, compassionate approach to difficult situations.
- Strong proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft Office, with good keyboard skills.
- Flexible, with the ability to build effective working relationships and work as part of a team; well organised with an understanding of confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
