Fixed Term Contract – 6 months
We’re looking for a proactive Deputy Market Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of Birkenhead Market and associated markets across the Borough. This hands‑on operational role supports market operations, trader engagement, events, compliance, staff supervision, and facilities management. You’ll support the Market Manager and take responsibility for the service in their absence, ensuring the market operates safely, effectively and commercially.
We’re looking for someone with experience in retail, commercial, hospitality, events or a market environment. You need strong organisational and communication skills, a practical approach to problem‑solving, and experience supporting operational services in a customer‑focused setting. Experience working within a market or trading environment, and knowledge of health & safety or compliance processes, would be an advantage.
