About the Role

An Advanced Practitioner Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding Team in Wirral. The post is 36 hours per week, permanent. The role leads professional social care practice in line with legislation, policies, procedures and best practice, and supports development of MASH principles.

  • Coordinate multi-agency approaches for early identification of threat, risk and harm with a focus on early intervention.
  • Ensure safeguarding is personal while managing individual needs and improving outcomes; speed up informed safeguarding decisions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Police, Health, Strategic partners) at enquiry start and during safeguarding services.
  • Reduce inappropriate referrals and make onward referral decisions to the most appropriate agency.
  • Use business intelligence from MASH to improve consistency, address gaps and improve outcomes.
  • Foster feedback and learning across agencies; provide safeguarding consultation to professionals on thresholds, referrals and early assessments.
  • Support day-to-day running of the team; provide professional supervision to experienced social workers and Care Navigators; work with another Advanced Practitioner, Team Manager and Senior Manager.
  • Drive improvements and uphold high professional practice standards.
