We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Behaviour & Exclusions Co‑ordinator to play a key role in supporting schools, families and the Local Authority with matters relating to suspensions, permanent exclusions, pupil moves, managed moves and off‑site direction. You will work alongside the Inclusion Strategy Manager to provide high‑quality advice, ensure compliance with statutory guidance, and maintain robust systems for tracking pupil movement and outcomes. You will build strong relationships with schools, academies, outreach teams and partner agencies, ensuring children and young people receive appropriate, timely and effective support.
This is a varied role involving case management, co-ordination of managed moves, data analysis, training support, and presenting information to decision‑making panels. No two days will be the same, and your work will directly contribute to positive inclusion outcomes across the borough.
The ideal candidate will be an organised, confident and compassionate professional with experience working with children, young people and families—ideally within a school, local authority or similar setting. You’ll have strong knowledge of exclusions, alternative provision, and related legislation, or the ability to learn this quickly. You will possess excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, working effectively with headteachers, families, and a wide range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable analysing data, managing complex information, and working to strict statutory deadlines. You’ll be able to problem‑solve, remain calm under pressure, and navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. A flexible approach, strong IT skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider inclusion team are essential.
