We’re looking for an Assistant Lawyer/Lawyers to advise on education and employment matters. Whilst the posts are likely to be involved predominantly in education related work, candidates will also have the opportunity to assist on employment law matters.
Responsibilities
Provide sound legal advice, work well under pressure, manage a busy workload to tight deadlines, and collaborate with a busy team of solicitors and legal assistants. Handle a caseload of tribunal proceedings and advice matters, and assist on employment law issues.
Qualifications
Admitted Solicitor or Barrister of England and Wales with a current practising certificate. Experience providing legal advice, managing deadlines, and working effectively in a team. Candidates with little or no exposure to these matters are encouraged to apply, as there will be opportunities to develop skills in specialist areas.

We’re looking for team players to help support and develop client officers and to be ready and willing to enhance their own career development. Opportunities include formal training, project team membership, project work, and working closely with Senior Officers from across the Council. Hybrid working between home and a brand‑new office is part of this role, working at the office 2‑3 days per week when necessary, supported by a technology platform that allows remote collaboration.
