We are seeking an Engagement Lead to create personalized lifestyle programmes and frameworks that stimulate meaningful engagement and positively impact resident wellbeing. The role will coordinate weekly plans and identify the individual requirements of residents, incorporating all aspects of the "B&M Care Engagement and Activities Framework".
Rate of Pay: £13.33 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: 30 hours per week
Location: Kings Langley – St Lauras, Care & Wellbeing
Responsibilities:
- Identify the needs, preferences, and aspirations of residents via profiles, life history, Care Plans, observation, and person-centred conversations.
- Work flexibly to meet residents' needs and service delivery across the home.
- Plan and coordinate a weekly programme for the home, ensuring plans and equipment are in place for staff when outside the home.
- Include all aspects of the "B&M Care Engagement and Activities Framework" when planning programmes.
- Identify isolated residents and plan specific person-centred programmes.
- Work in line with the company’s culture and ethos promoting Commitment, Connection, and Compassion.
- Encourage staff to embody the company’s core values of Commitment, Connection and Compassion.
- Display and distribute weekly programmes and notices, using IT equipment for schedules and posters.
- Book and confirm external entertainers within budget and procedure.
- Research and plan outings using the home car or company minibus, including risk assessment and budget.
- Facilitate group activities involving staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate in-house amenities (e.g. confectionery trolley, library facilities).
- Plan and co‑ordinate annual events to promote the care home internally and to the wider community.
- Establish links and encourage local community involvement.
- Promote activities and news items through the company website.
- Establish relationships with local press and run press releases with Marketing Team.
- Coordinate correspondence between residents and families.
- Involve relatives in activity programmes and attend relatives’ meetings.
- Produce and distribute a regular newsletter highlighting activities and events.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with all staff regarding implementation of activity programmes.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and Engagement Lead meetings twice per year.
- Deliver Engagement and Wellbeing training to the team as needed.
- Support the Manager with direct observations.
- Create display areas and informational content to engage residents.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and stored per requirements.
- Chair regular residents’ meetings encouraging participation.
- Maintain equipment and materials in good order and accessible.
- Manage equipment, both internal (iPad) and borrowed from other sources.
- Maintain a safe living and working environment by observing health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills, Characteristics and Experience:
- Ability to motivate and encourage activities suitable for all residents.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible.
- Effective time management.
- Uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in event planning.
- Understanding and knowledge of person-centred care.
