Wired Weston is a growing electrical contractor based in Weston-super-Mare, working across domestic, commercial and social-housing projects throughout the South West. We are a practical, friendly team with high standards. We work hard, look after our customers and take pride in completing jobs properly.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Qualified Electrician who is confident working independently, taking responsibility for their own jobs and supporting an apprentice when required. This is a good opportunity for an electrician who wants more than just another job. We want someone who can become an important part of the team, develop their skills and progress with the company as we grow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carry out first- and second-fix electrical installations.
- Complete electrical work across domestic, commercial and social-housing properties.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits and equipment.
- Carry out electrical inspection and testing, including EICRs where appropriately qualified.
- Take ownership of allocated jobs from arrival through to completion.
- Complete job sheets, reports and electrical certification accurately and on time.
- Read and work from plans, specifications and drawings.
- Work in accordance with the current edition of BS 7671, relevant guidance and company safety procedures.
- Work alongside and support apprentices where required.
- Communicate professionally with customers, clients, colleagues and other trades.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and respectful, particularly when working in customers' homes.
- Look after your company van, tools, test equipment and other company property.
What we’re looking for:
- A recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of electrical regulations and safe working practices.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- The confidence to support or supervise an apprentice where required.
- The ability to complete electrical certificates and job records accurately.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- A practical, proactive attitude.
- A full UK driving licence.
- 18th Edition and an Inspection & Testing qualification are desirable.
