We are seeking an experienced Copilot & Agentic AI Architect to design, build, and govern enterprise-grade AI solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role pairs deep Microsoft 365 platform expertise with hands-on architecture of Microsoft Copilot extensibility and agentic AI systems. You will lead the design of declarative and custom-engine agents, orchestrate multi-agent workflows, ground AI on enterprise data through retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and embed responsible-AI, security, and compliance controls end to end. You will act as the technical authority that connects business outcomes to scalable, secure, production-ready AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution architecture: Define target architectures for Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility — declarative agents, custom engine agents, plugins, connectors, and Copilot Studio solutions.
- Agentic AI design: Architect multi-agent orchestration, tool/function calling, planning, memory, and human-in-the-loop patterns using the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK, Copilot Studio, Semantic Kernel, and Azure AI Foundry.
- M365 integration: Integrate solutions with Microsoft Graph, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and the Power Platform.
- Observability & quality: Define testing, evaluation, monitoring, and cost/performance optimization practices for AI workloads.
- Reusable assets: Produce reference architectures, solution blueprints, and accelerators; drive key technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Stakeholder partnership: Work with product, security, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable designs.
- Leadership & mentoring: Mentor engineers, run design and code reviews, and evangelize adoption of the evolving Microsoft AI roadmap.
Nice to Have
- Grounding & RAG: Design retrieval-augmented generation and grounding architectures over Microsoft Graph, Graph connectors, SharePoint, Dataverse, and Azure AI Search.
- Governance & security: Establish guardrails across Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Purview, DLP, sensitivity labels, and Responsible AI standards.
- Model & prompt engineering: Lead model selection (Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry catalog), prompt engineering, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 12+ years in software architecture or engineering, including 3+ years designing solutions on Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience building Microsoft Copilot extensibility (Copilot Studio, declarative agents, plugins) or comparable enterprise AI assistants.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks — Microsoft 365 Agents SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or LangChain / LangGraph.
- Strong experience with Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry, prompt engineering, and RAG patterns.
- Deep working knowledge of the Microsoft Graph API and the M365 developer platform.
- Proficiency in at least one of C#, Python, or TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of identity and security (Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, RBAC) and data governance (Purview, DLP, sensitivity labels).
- Experience with the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
- Strong grasp of Responsible AI principles and enterprise AI governance.
Technical Skills Matrix
- Agentic Frameworks: Microsoft 365 Agents SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangChain / LangGraph, MCP, A2A
- M365 Platform: Microsoft Graph, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, Dataverse
- Security & Governance: C#, Python, TypeScript, REST/Graph APIs, CI-CD, Bicep / Terraform
