We are looking for a Scrum Master Agile coach to work in London on a contract basis. We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support delivery teams in the Front Office Power Trading domain. The role focuses on planning, organizing, facilitating, and continuously improving agile ways of working in a complex, trading-critical environment. The Scrum Master will be an agile Coach and will act as a facilitator, organizer, and coach, ensuring effective agile ceremonies, strong backlog management, transparent communication, and stable delivery — even under changing priorities and external constraints typical for a trading organization.
Key Responsibilities- Agile Ceremonies & Formats (Trading Environment)
Plan, organize, facilitate, and follow up on agile ceremonies and team formats in a trading environment, including:
- Onsite workshops, covering agenda design, invitations, logistics alignment, facilitation, and securing outcomes
- Backlog refinement sessions, ensuring clarity and readiness of items
- Planning sessions (sprint or iteration planning)
- Regular Weekly meetings (e.g., weekly team meetings, status rounds)
Foster agile thinking and structured collaboration across all facilitated formats.
Backlog Management & Team Focus- Ensure the product backlog is:
- Up to date
- Clearly understandable
- Meaningfully structured and prioritized
Make impediments visible, track them actively, and support their resolution. Maintain a strong communication flow between team, product owner, and stakeholders.
Tooling: Jira & Azure DevOpsUse Jira for:
- Issue and ticket management
- Boards, workflows, and issue types
- Backlog organization and progress transparency
Use Azure DevOps for:
- Work item management
- Sprint and iteration assignment
- Boards and backlogs
Ensure digital tooling is used consistently to support transparency and delivery.
Agile Ways of WorkingApply and stabilize Scrum practices (mandatory). Apply Kanban practices where appropriate (preferred). Continuously inspect and adapt agile practices to improve team performance and delivery outcomes.
Required Experience & Skills- Proven experience delivering agile ceremonies in a trading or comparable critical delivery environment, including:
- ≥ 3 onsite workshops
- ≥ 10 refinement sessions
- ≥ 10 planning sessions
- ≥ 50 weekly team/status meetings
Demonstrated capability in backlog management, prioritization, and team focus. Practical hands-on experience using:
- Jira
- Azure DevOps
Strong facilitation, organization, and communication skills. Proven experience applying Scrum (Kanban experience appreciated).
