We are seeking a visionary Banking & Financial Services (BFS) consulting leader to scale our Payments consulting business across the UKI market. This leadership role will define the regional Payments advisory and consulting strategy, build a high‑impact consulting practice, and position Wipro as a market‑leading AI transformation partner. The role will drive growth across BFS industries while leveraging Wipro’s broader consulting and technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow the Payments consulting business across UKI by driving revenue, market presence, and practice scale with a focus on
    • Payments strategy and transformation
    • Payments Schemes & Rails – Domestic (Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS, etc) International (SWIFT, Cross‑border, SEPA, etc)
    • ISO 20022
    • Cards & Merchants Payments
    • Real‑time Payments
    • Regulatory & Compliance – PSD2 / PSD3, Open Banking, AML, etc
    • Payments Tech & Platforms
  • Build and grow senior client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to CXOs on AI‑led transformation, operating model, cost efficiencies and critical business transformation programmes
  • Lead large‑scale people and transformation programmes delivering measurable business impact
  • Originate and convert consulting opportunities to drive profitable growth
  • Deliver complex, multi‑shore engagements with commercial accountability
  • Shape thought leadership and go‑to‑market propositions

Who we are looking for

Develop Business, Sell & Deliver

  • Outstanding leadership, communication, relationship building and networking skills on the client side, ecosystem partners and internal organization.
  • Successful in generating consulting business from new and existing accounts and have the capability to drive and lead customer relationships. Important to have established networks across the UKI Banking & Financial Services market.
  • Bring a self‑sufficient approach that is both pro‑active in supporting business development opportunities and effective at creating personal utilisation in our “sell & deliver” operating model.
  • Delivery and programme expertise with experience in handling multi‑shore consulting projects with distributed teams delivering sustainable customer value.

Driving Transformation

  • Be a champion and passionate advocate for AI‑powered transformation to reposition Wipro as a strategic partner to accelerate and sustain customer value.
  • Significant transformation proposition definition and engagement shaping using core and disruptive technologies to solve business problems for tangible benefits at large enterprise clients, especially in the areas of:
    • AI‑powered Payments modernisation
    • Payments operating model transformation
    • Enterprise payments AI architecture
    • Payment hub transformation
    • Core banking and payments integration
    • Build vs buy platform strategy
  • Ability to drive and lead strategic execution, manage change, build relationships with clients and partners, motivate teams and achieve results
  • Bring strong programme and consulting disciplines (e.g. Project / Program Management, Storytelling, Executive Communications, Commercial disciplines etc.) – ideally from Big 4, Accenture, top‑tier management/strategy consulting firms

Talent Management

  • Creative, collaborative, and motivating consulting leader who can focus diverse teams on common outcomes and goals.
  • Nurturing, developing, mentoring top talent into future consulting business leaders.
  • Execution of organisational people strategy with strong collaboration from HR and Recruitment leads.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to attract top diverse talent at all levels.

Thought Leadership

  • Strong knowledge of the CxO agenda and experience of developing and delivering strategic AI‑powered payments transformation initiatives with a significant focus on process, data and technology.
  • Brings own opinion on the key issues facing CxOs across the region and demonstrates how to leverage this in a collaborative environment to develop points of view and propositions.
  • Ability to converse with industry leaders and analysts on trends within the market.
  • Proactively proposes solutions, investment decisions along with published artefacts, industry speakerships, analyst interactions etc.
  • Internal content and offerings creator: writes publications, blogs and whitepapers.
  • Utilises social media effectively with their digital presence to enhance the Wipro brand presence.
