About the role

You’ll be part of the team responsible for bringing AI innovation into the hands of millions of players. Working alongside AI researchers and experienced engineers, you’ll transform proven concepts into high‑quality, production‑ready features that power personalised player experiences. From recommendation systems and intelligent search to AI agents and dynamic content discovery, you’ll build and scale the technology that sits behind our products. This is a senior, hands-on role with genuine ownership; you’ll influence how solutions are designed, built and delivered while working in a collaborative team that’s passionate about solving complex engineering challenges with AI.

So, what will you be doing?

• Take prototypes and validated concepts from R&D and turn them into production systems: hardened, tested, observable, and maintainable.
• Build and operate real‑time personalisation, recommendation, search and ranking systems against live traffic and within real latency budgets.
• Hold a high engineering bar on AWS and TypeScript: clean CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and testing.
• Work closely with R&D engineers, product managers, data analysts and Staff Engineers, bridging fast experimental work and production discipline.

And what will you need?

Experience

• Significant commercial software engineering experience (typically 5+ years) with strong expertise in TypeScript and working knowledge of Python.
• Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning or data‑driven features into production, such as recommendation engines, search, ranking systems or LLM‑powered applications.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating cloud‑native applications on AWS, with a solid understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code and production monitoring.
• Experience developing and supporting high‑performance, real‑time systems with a focus on scalability, reliability and low latency.
• Experience measuring and evaluating AI model performance, using data and experimentation to drive continuous improvement.

• Strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices, with a focus on clean, maintainable and well‑tested code.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment alongside engineers, product teams and AI researchers.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, curious and continuously looking for opportunities to improve products, processes and the way AI solutions are delivered.

Perform root‑cause analysis to identify and troubleshoot recurring technical issues. Modify software codes to resolve errors, adapt to new hardware and software, enhance performance, and upgrade interfaces.

Implementation

Collaborate with technical teams to validate configurations, facilitate integration of new applications, and address dependencies during deployment. Prepare user training documents and related frameworks to ensure smooth adoption of new applications and minimise transition risks.
