Conduct time studies and motion analysis on production operations to establish standard times, match calculated timings, and provide feedback.
Design and optimize factory layouts to minimize material travel distance, eliminate bottlenecks, and support production flow.
Lead improvement activities.
Develop and maintain standard work documentation: work instructions, training records, cycle time targets, and other core documents.
Manage capital equipment justifications.
Analyze production capacity: model current and future demand against resource constraints, identify capacity gaps, and develop expansion or efficiency-based solutions.
Support ergonomics reviews of workstations: identify lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion risk factors and redesign work setups to reduce injury exposure and maintain 5S standards.
Coordinate engineering changes to production processes: manage the impact analysis, update standard work, and support the change implementation on the floor.
Support New Production Introduction (NPI) build phases through to start of production with a hands-on approach feeding back data and reporting issues.
Control all phase builds and builds for testing, working with the New Production Introduction Engineer/s.
Physically build and provide feedback at each build phase.
Develop and support processes for all new products.
Ensure the correct level of parts are available for the phase builds.
Support Quality engineering in defect investigation and deliver root cause resolution.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, HNC / HND or relevant experience.
- An understanding of Methods Time Measurement (MTM).
- Equipment programming and investigation.
- Good level of literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills required.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Good team player.
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Calm and methodical in a pressurised environment.
