We are looking for an Industrial HSEQ Manager to join our successful team at Winvic Construction, a multi‐disciplinary main contractor based in the Midlands, that excels in the delivery of construction projects on a national scale.

Reporting to the Head of HSEQ for the sector, the successful candidate will support the business with HSEQ processes and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, adherence to related statutory duties and furthering of best practice standards. To use their knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and ensure legal compliance.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction Certificate
  • Previous sector experience as a HSEQ Manager / safety professional.
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving and improving change.
  • Management of HSEQ management systems.
  • Experience of reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Eye for detail and a results driven approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to defined deadlines.
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain familiarisation with all Winvic HSEQ prescribed working practices and standards, additionally changes in legislation, guidance, codes of practice etc.
  • General Inspections carried out to a high standard and in a manner that reflects compliance against Winvic on the schemes in which you have been allocated as required (minimum of 1 a month on each allocated scheme), provide advice and guidance to improve the level of compliance and regulatory risk control.
  • Ensure that functions such as project HSEQ pre‐planning meetings, forward planning meetings are carried out in a manner that best serves the integrity and outputs of the requirements.
  • Assist the planning and development of safe systems of work in conjunction with project teams and supply chain particularly in relation to high risk works and/or unique operations.
  • Lead by example with an attitude of never walking by issues.
  • Ensure incidents, accidents, observations etc. are effectively reported onto the Info‐tracker system. Escalate significant incidents, issues, trends to senior staff associated with scheme as required. All info tracker entries to be closed out in a timely manner, close out process to be monitored on allocated schemes through to full closure.
  • Engage and support compliance with client specific reporting requirements.
  • Proactively engage with supply chain members you have been allocated as point of contact to.
  • Interact with supply chain in an effective manner where issues or improvements are required.
  • Carry out incident/accident investigations as required, findings to be formulated within reports in a timely and professional manner.
  • Undertake reviews of BMS processes as and when required and in an agreed timeframe.
  • Ensure agreed deadlines on any objectives set and agreed are worked to.
  • Assist HSEQ team members in fulfilling requirements on schemes they are allocated where required.
  • Participate in supporting the business with regards to tenders and pre‐qualification questionnaires (PQQ's) and tender submissions, as requested.
  • Provide internal training and coaching to operational teams in specific subject matters, such as – CDM, Contractor Management, Incident Investigation, Risk Assessment, COSHH, Spill Kit Response, HSG47 and SAP.
  • Undertake all other duties as directed by Head of HSEQ in a professional manner.
  • Maintain training skills to comply with company matrix for your role.
